APH Italy has schizophrenia in canon.
This has been a PSA. (◡‿◡✿)care to explain your reasoning on this? i’m just curious as to where this is coming from since in my own personal experience and having followed hetalia for ~7 years, i have never seen anything that would support this.
I am just going off of the scene where Italy said that he didn’t want Germany to leave because he ran out of medication and saw the hallucinations of France and Britain laughing at at him and theoretically eating him like the tasty morsel like he is (or something along the lines of that). I’m not sure if it would be classified as schizophrenia, but I wasn’t certain if there was another term for that.
I do apologize if my facts aren’t exact, but Italy had said that he has to take medication for hallucinations in the anime, and I think I remember it in the manga at one point.
I just wanted that fact to be more known, since no one really mentions that scene.
yeah that doesn’t classify itself as schizophrenia; schizophrenia is something incredibly different in the context of that. if anything i would personally classify that as something along the lines of a scene of his imagination. as a stretch you could maybe say ptsd.
i went searching for a bit and didn’t find anything that mentions medication in the manga or anime unless it was the dub? if it’s the dub, nothing the dub presents is canon since…well, it’s That Hetalia Dub that has no real translation accuracy on purpose. i don’t pay a lot of attention to italy though, but someone i know who does also has no recollection of this and i trust their knowledge base.
not that i am like trying to discredit you i just find no receipts for this interpretation and would like to be more informed and explore this if it is in fact something that is actually canon.
