#this shit gets so old
#stop putting female characters on a pedastal
#we need to criticize how they're mistreated not applaud it
Repeat after me Hetalia fandom:
There is so much more to Natalia’s character than just wanting to marry Ivan and she should be appreciated more.
stop trying to act like hetalia characters are anything more than 1 dimensional ‘comedy’ tropes
when has belarus ever had a storyline that didn’t involve russia (and i’m not just talking about throwaway lines here and there)
look y'all, this is a problem a lot of fandoms have. in the case of hetalia, a whole TON of characters are left in the dust and there’s a lot of loose ends, questions unanswered, character inconsistencies. trying to throw around things like OH THIS FEMALE CHARACTER IS SO WELL ROUNDED when she’s literally just an insane woman that wants to get it down with her brother is accepting what we shouldn’t accept: the female characters are severely lacking in this canon. fandom headcanons don’t count as a character being well rounded because that’s not coming from the creator. you can make a character whatever you like, but that doesn’t make them well-rounded because that doesn’t directly come from the source; it does not count.
i know that there were bios or something that released tidbits about belarus like she likes the occult and rock music (iirc) and things like that, but a little biosheet about a character isn’t jack when their actual appearance in the material is summed up with “a crazy chick wants to fuck her brother.” there’s not much more than that.
